thin walls

i can hear them walk about
i wonder if they'll start to shout
i hear a cough, a door, someone's out

i turn down my music
i hear a car drive by
someone else is on the stairs
do i hear because im high?

the water runs
we all can hear
when someone falls
or breaks a beer

too quiet for these thin walls
don't wanna share my footfalls
i don't wanna hear who's in the hall
but for my own space i'll put up with it all
